Pace celebrated his 40th birthday on the trail. He brought in Jiffy Pop Popcorn and cooked it up over his stove. It was a big hit with the other thru-hikers.

| We formally celebrated Pace's birthday at Ruth's Chris Stakehouse. Dreamer (Shelley), Porter, Burps (Liz) and Pace. |
| On Wednesday, May 18 the guys hiked 25 miles and are feeling good. They continue to get stronger every day and their feet are holding up very well. |
